BSRA Championship Rules 2026
The BSRA will promote a championship for road riding entrants in 2026.
The Championship Controllers will be Ann Louise Chiverton and Scott Southon, email address championship@bsra-uk.com. All correspondence regarding the championship should be sent to that address.
The championship controller’s decision is final in all matters regarding this championship.
The championship will be open to anyone. Only those riding a scooter will be eligible for points. Pillion passengers or using any other form of transport which isn’t a scooter will not be eligible for points.
Only BSRA National Rallies (and sometimes a wildcard, for 2026 it is Mersea Island) which are listed on the BSRA website will be included in the championship. These are also listed on the accompanying sign-on card.
All competing members must sign on for the event at which they are attending, no claims will be accepted by text / post/ telephone / email, after the event.
The official BSRA signing on sheet for the event will only be available on the Saturday of the National Rally weekend. The sheet will be available from as close to the start of trading (Saturday) of the event to late afternoon of the same day. Onus is on the entrant to present themselves at the signing-on point.
Signing-on point will be the Lexham Insurance stall when possible. The following may also be used as a signing on point if the Lexham stall is not present – Scooter Nova stall or Crusader Promotions Stall.
Sign for yourself only. There will be a sign on sheet to tick attendance for that event, and the sign on card provided will be stamped/signed accordingly.
Anyone found to be completing false information (i.e. stating they have ridden when they haven’t), engaging in ungentlemanly conduct, trying to use loopholes to argue/ gain advantage or by bringing the championship into disrepute may be removed from the championship.
Travelling by two types of transport to an event will result in reduced points being awarded, for example, part of the journey by scooter, part by van: in this case only the scooter points will be awarded.
Points are awarded for mileage undertaken one way (i.e. to the National Rally). Points are worked out from the entrant’s home address (postcode) to the event postcode where the sign on sheet is located by using Bing Maps via the shortest route. Detours, stop-offs or getting lost will not be recognised. Only exception to this is if a ferry is to be used (i.e. Isle of Wight) whereby mileages will be worked out to the terminal/s used.
Mileages undertaken are then recorded on an excel spreadsheet, to allow for totting up at the end of the year to be easier.
Awards will be split between Male & Female in the Solo section, with prizes (T.B.D.) being presented to the first (3) Males & first (3) Females. In some cases, a ‘special’ award may be presented, for any reason deemed worthy, at the championship controller’s discretion.
A Club award may be presented if there is enough interest at the beginning of the year. A minimum of 3 Clubs competing, each containing a minimum of 4 members would be required to make a Club section viable.
All awards will be presented at the last National Rally of the Year (for 2026 it is Llandudno) generally just before the LCGB custom show prize giving is done.
Any ignorance of the rules or non-conformance to them will not be accepted as an excuse.
